Welcoming Users to a Module

This project for the Rhode Island Department of Education called for several short videos, including an introduction to the module. The details of videos are frequently neglected in UX design. It's not enough just to include a video, the content and presentation of the video need to be carefully considered. In this case, the content explains the key concepts of the module, as well as where this module fits into the other modules in the series.

Since it's very difficult to get live footage of classrooms due to privacy issues, I decided to use primarily still photos. To hold users' attention, I added on screen text that highlights key points of the narration. In theory it sounds dull, in practice, it's actually much more than the sum of its parts.
